Gap Analysis

The gap analysis tool scores your current data readiness against a chosen ESG reporting framework and shows exactly which requirements are met, which are missing, and what you need to do next.

How it works

  1. Navigate to Reporting → Gap Analysis.
  2. Select a reporting framework from the dropdown.
  3. Set the reporting period (start and end date).
  4. Click Analyse — results appear in seconds.

AlchemOS maps every piece of data you have already entered against the disclosure requirements of the selected framework. Each requirement is checked against your emissions entries, offset records, and certificates to produce a readiness score (0 – 100%).

Supported frameworks

Framework Description
GHG Protocol (GRI 305) Scope 1, 2 & 3 inventory aligned to GHG Protocol and GRI 305: Emissions
CDP CDP Climate Change questionnaire — governance, strategy, risk, emissions and targets
TCFD Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures — four-pillar structure
SBTi Science Based Targets initiative — 1.5 °C pathway progress
SFDR EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation — Principal Adverse Impact indicators
ISSB S2 IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures — ISSB climate metrics and scenario analysis

Readiness levels

Score Level Meaning
80 – 100 % Ready All or nearly all required data is present
60 – 79 % Mostly ready Minor gaps; some supplementary data missing
40 – 59 % Partially ready Material gaps that require action before filing
0 – 39 % Not ready Significant data collection work needed

Understanding the results

Score ring

The large circular indicator shows your overall readiness percentage. The colour changes with your score:

  • Green (≥ 80 %) — Ready to report
  • Blue (60–79 %) — Mostly ready
  • Amber (40–59 %) — Action needed
  • Red (< 40 %) — Significant gaps

Summary chips

Three chips summarise the analysis at a glance:

  • Total requirements — how many disclosure items the framework requires
  • Met — how many you have fully covered
  • Gaps remaining — how many still need attention

Gap groups

Unmet requirements are grouped by severity:

  • Blockers — critical disclosures the framework considers mandatory; you cannot file without these
  • High — important fields that significantly affect your score
  • Medium — recommended disclosures that improve completeness
  • Low — optional or supplementary items

Each row shows the requirement code, a plain-English description, whether you have any data for it (Yes / No), and a suggested remediation action.

Recommendations

Below the gap table, AlchemOS provides a prioritised list of actions to close your most impactful gaps first.

Steps to close your gaps

  1. Review the Blockers group first — resolve all mandatory items.
  2. Work through High severity gaps next.
  3. Re-run the analysis after each batch of data entry — your score updates immediately.
  4. Once your score is in the Ready band, generate your report from Reporting → Reports Library.
